Joe Virginia serves as vice president of sales, business development, product management and applications engineering for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc. He oversees all customer-facing functions for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies and is responsible for all product categories and commercialization initiatives within the division.

Virginia has more than 25 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, business development, operations, applications engineering and marketing communications; he has held executive leadership positions in a variety of high-tech categories, including flat-panel displays, touch screens and MEMS inertial sensors. Prior to joining Qualcomm in January 2011, Virginia was in charge of global supply chain management for flat panel displays, touch screen solutions and MEMS sensors at Cisco Systems. He was vice president of corporate marketing and handheld business at Synaptics, vice president of Samsung LCD Business, with global responsibilities for mobile displays, notebook and monitor displays, HDTV and public information displays. Joe was also vice president of business development for iFire Technologies, where he successfully commercialized a new flat panel display technology. Virginia began his display career at Fujitsu and is credited with the first commercial installation of large screen color plasma display technology as part of the New York Stock Exchange’s $200 million technology investment in the mid-1990s.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University.
