Dr. Surya Ganti is the vice president of technology at Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc. (QMT), where he is responsible for developing key components of the mirasol display technology portfolio including QMT’s IMOD technology roadmap, driving innovations in IMOD- and MEMS-based processes and device technologies, and advancing the IP portfolio. He also manages the R&D operations at the MEMS Research and Innovation Center. Dr. Ganti has previously served as a director and senior director within QMT, where he helped develop the panel technologies and the critical manufacturing infrastructure.

Prior to joining Qualcomm’s display division, Dr. Ganti worked at General Electric’s Global Research Center, where he collaborated with various GE businesses areas, including aircraft engines, energy, healthcare and consumer products, and led the hybrid materials program.

Dr. Ganti earned his bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology Chennai, and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering. Dr. Ganti served as chair for many international conferences, is a member of the Materials Research Society (MRS) and the Society for Information Displays and has spoken at MRS and American Society of Mechanical Engineers conferences. His work has appeared in more than 20 international publications and he holds more than 20 patents.
