Steve Dhanens is vice president of finance and assistant general manager of Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc (QMT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm, and developer of mirasol® displays, the industry’s first MEMS based reflective display for mobile consumer devices. Dhanens oversees the division’s strategic direction and has broad oversight of QMT’s day-to-day operations. Moreover, Dhanens also has direct oversight of the division’s finance and accounting organizations.
Dhanens originally joined Qualcomm in 1996 as the director of finance for the Wireless Infrastructure division, overseeing financial planning and reporting, as well as pricing for Qualcomm’s wireless infrastructure proposals. In 1998, Dhanens joined Qualcomm spin-off Leap Wireless as corporate controller and later served as vice president of financial planning and analysis where he played a key role in the company’s growth. After rejoining Qualcomm again in 2003, Dhanens led the Corporate Financial Planning group and then joined QMT in 2004, following the acquisition of Iridigm Display Corporation.
Prior to Qualcomm, Dhanens held various management positions at Hitachi Data Systems, including regional commercial controller and director of worldwide financial planning and analysis. Dhanens also previously served as a senior auditor with the accounting firm Price Waterhouse.
Dhanens holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.
