Dr. Manish Kothari, vice president of engineering at Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc. is responsible for product development and commercialization of mirasol integrated products. He serves as the lead for the engineering product development and program management groups at QMT.
Dr. Kothari was previously senior director of business operations, where he served as divisional liaison to the QMT CFO’s office for development of business strategy and strategic planning, in addition to overseeing program management. Prior to that, Dr. Kothari served as the Director of Engineering at QMT since the acquisition of Iridigm in 2004. Dr. Kothari led the first multi-nation/multi-disciplinary engineering team charged with the phase 1 transfer of the MEMS Interferometric Modulator (IMOD) process from a wafer line to a TFT LCD manufacturing line. Prior to the Iridigm acquisition, Dr. Kothari served as Iridigm’s Engineering Manager where his responsibilities included MEMS architecture and design, and the associated characterization and process development.
Dr. Kothari has authored several scientific and technical journal articles and holds several patents (50+: pending and granted). Dr. Kothari has a MS/PhD from MIT and B.Tech from IIT Madras, India.
